Vintage Fine Bone China matching duo set.
Manufactured by Colclough China Ltd, established in 1897.
Location: Ridgway Potteries, Longton, Stoke-on-Trent, England.
Circa: 1962.
Period: Contemporary design -Pink Thistle and Stem.
Status: Discontinued -Collector’s item.
Featured is a pretty teacup and saucer duo set by Colclough; mass producer of bone china tea sets and as once quoted as… “Britain’s largest manufacturer of Bone China Teaware”…
Decorated in a beautiful contemporary floral design of pink thistle flowers and buds with gold trimmings throughout each piece.
The teacup has a deep, round design with a scalloped top edge and a short pedestal base.
The matching saucer has a gentle upward curve and also a scalloped edge.
Glossy white porcelain finish.
Printed identification trademark/back stamp on the underside base of each matching piece.
Teacup measurements:
8.5 cm top rim diameter, not including handle.
7 cm diameter at the widest middle point.
4.2 cm pedestal diameter.
175ml capacity.
Saucer measurements:
14 cm in diameter across.
3 cm depth.
Condition:
A small amount of wear to gold gildings. Insignificant and mentioned only for accuracy (please refer to photos).
Otherwise, both pieces are in excellent vintage condition.
There are no chips, repairs, cracks, crazing, stains or wear to the pattern.
