Vintage Pottery Studio Art Cupid Venus Green Signed Pitcher.
Vintage studio art large pitcher with a Roman Grecian theme of Venus and Cupid and similar in appearance to the Tam O'Shanter English stoneware pitchers from the 1800s.
This beautiful 1980s pitcher, possibly part of a wash bowl and pitcher set would be lovely as a vase filled with flowers or for its intended use. Handcrafted by a potter/artist, it depicts the goddess of love, Venus, her son Cupid, and a group of Puttis. The
pattern has an upraised 3D effect and is in a lovely light green/pastel and white colour.
Measurements approximately:
H x 19.5 cm
L x 16 cm spout to handle.
W x 14 cm at widest points.
1.25 litre capacity.
Condition:
There is crazing on both the outside and inside of the pitcher.
In excellent condition, and there are no cracks, chips or repairs.
The underside base is signed.
